Description of dot peening:
Actually a normal DataMatrix code, but in this case a special marking process specified by the aerospace industry for the direct marking of components in compliance with ATA regulations.
How is dot peening applied?
Like a normal DataMatrix code but with a specially developed electrical needle head which imprints its dots with the utmost possible precision.
MODEL 350
For AS 9132 markings
High precision Dot peening marking machine 350
For the aerospace industry
- DataMatrix coding (ECC 200) directly onto work pieces
- Dot peening precisely in accordance with AS 9132 specification
- Complies with the ATA 2000 guideline on the direct marking
of component parts
- Electrical precision marking head with its own controller
- Separate adjustment of acceleration, impact strength and
corresponding reaction times
- Three NC-axes for positioning the code area and working height
- Automatic height tolerance correction with sensor
- Plain text marking with dot matrix lettering (5 x 7)
- Intuitively controlled Windows program
- Marking data via ethernet, bar code scanner or keyboard
- WysiWiyg layout editor can insert an actual workpiece
image as a bit map
- Automatic serial numbering, batch size counting and
format checking
- Compact, integral image processing system for precise geometric
verification of coding
Geometric verification
- Camera specially developed for dot peening on metal
- Images precisely vertical from the top
- Height control via NC axis eliminates tolerances
- New verification system specially developed from the standpoint
of the characteristics of DataMatrix codes (particularly three-
dimensional) needle stamped on metal
- Indication of quality status, i.e. OK - Warning - Not OK
- Can be configured for each individual criterion and as a whole
from A to F quality?
- This affords simple, reliable production monitoring of coding
- Individual measured values of all criteria can be stored in
a database for trend analysis, etc.
- Trend overview in accordance with quality categories
(A to F) can be called up direct
- WINDOWS(R)® software for detailed analysis
- Zoom inspection for each individual dot
- Suitable for first article inspection of a production batch;
no separate laboratory analysis required
- Testing system capable of calibration in accordance
with ISO 9001 and similar quality standards
